Partners in Crime, the San Diego Chapter of Sisters in Crime, is proud to announce its next online meeting/talk. On October 9 at 3pm, join us for this FREE VIRTUAL PANEL on Thrillers and Mysteries.

What are the different types of stories (suspense, thriller, psychological, detective, etc.), how do writers going about writing the hero or constructing their novels in general?

We have brought in three writers with different approaches and backgrounds. Matthew Quirk is a well known author with some astounding political thrillers to his name. Corey Lynn Fayman is a local award-winning author writing a wonderful series about musician turned detective Rolly Waters solving crimes in San Diego. Lauri Schoenfeld is a debut author with a psychological thriller about a woman wrestling with demons from her past while trying to solve what happened to her children.

Matthew Quirk is the New York Times bestselling author of Hour of the Assassin, The Night Agent, Dead Man Switch, Cold Barrel ZeroThe Directive, and The 500, an Edgar nominee and the winner of the Thriller and Strand Critics Awards. His novels have been translated into 20 languages and optioned for film.
Corey Lynn Fayman has done hard time as a musician, interactive developer and theatrical sound designer, but still refuses to apologize for it. His hometown of San Diego, CA provides the backdrop for his mystery novels, including the award-winning Border Field Blues and Desert City Diva.
Lauri Schoenfeld currently resides in Utah with her hubby, three kids, and dog Jack Wyatt Wolverine. She’s a child abuse advocate, a Nancy Drew enthusiast, and is part cyborg. Teaching creative writing classes to her community is one of her favorite things to do. When she’s not having long conversations with her characters and creating stories, she’s hosting the Enlightenment Podcast, reading, or solving a mystery. LITTLE OWL is her debut novel.
