June 27th 3:00pm Mystery Across the Pond and to the Coast – Matt Coyle & Andrea Carter

The chapters of Sisters in Crime San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles welcome you to the first of our Sizzling Summer Speaker Series on June 27 at 3:00, Pacific Time. The theme is Mystery Across the Pond. Two outstanding crime writers, Matt Coyle and Andrea Carter, will zoom in from San Diego and Dublin to talk about their crime writing and how it differs on the two sides of the Atlantic.

Andrea Carter is the author of the Inishowen Mysteries, published in the UK, Germany and the U.S. The Sunday Times has said ‘Carter excels in re-creating the cloistered, gossipy confines of a small Irish village…the Inishowen community where everybody knows everybody else’s business,” and compares her work to Agatha Christie. Reviewers have called her books “haunting,” “atmospheric,” and “gripping.” Carter is a former solicitor and her books are full of Irish legal tidbits. At our event we’ll be talking about her book The Well of Ice.

Matt Coyle is the author of the best-selling Rick Cahill PI crime novels. His books have won the Anthony Award, the San Diego Book Award, the Ben Franklin Award, the Shamus and the Lefty Award. We’ll be talking about his latest, Blind Vigil. Jefferson Parker called it “a visceral tour de force of the P.I. tradition.”

Attendance is free and it is open to the public.  Join us with the following link:
